Robot Building Competition

Hope you enjoyed, see you next year – as a competitor or volunteer!

Form a team!

Build Robots!

Win Prizes!

Have fun!

Work with a team of 2 or 3 others to build the robot of your dreams! Using an Arduino, motors, sensors you’ll have to construct a device capable of solving a new and electrifying challenge!

Don’t worry if you have never worked with an Arduino before, we will teach you everything there is to know! Want to design your own chassis but don’t know how to start? Don’t know how to use sensors and motors and control them with Arduino πŸ’»? SMEE and MECC have got your back. We will hold workshops on CAD, sensors and motors in the three weeks leading up to the big competition weekend in semester 2!

πŸ›  Workshop Dates: Weeks 2, 3 & 4 (dates confirmed – click the button above!)

πŸ“… Competition Date: Saturday 17th – Sunday 18th August (end of week 4 Semester 2)

Synopsis: A deadly gas leak has put the city πŸŒ† into lockdown. The cure to the leak lies in the heart of the city – the epicentre itself! No humans can travel there as the leak is far too dangerous for a mortal. Fortunately, your engineering skills can help save the day! Can you and your team build an autonomous robot πŸš— that will traverse the labyrinthine cityscape to release the antidote?

Join us for an exciting weekend of building robots and competing where teams challenge themselves to build the fastest robot to traverse the city and save people!

Whether your expertise lies in computer programming, electrical, mechanical engineering or something else, there’s a crucial role you can play. The remaining question is: are you up for the challenge?
